This past weekend, I put my heart on the line. Yup, here is personal blog post (vacation shots and selfies to follow).
I got down on one knee on the way up to South Dakota. Thank the good Lord she said "YES!", or it would have been a very short trip. We were spending the weekend doing some sight-seeing in the Black Hills. It turned into much more than what she thought was just a camping trip. I had all the camping gear, to keep up the ruse. Once we arrived, it wasn't at a campground, but a Bed & Breakfast.
We toured the local sights and took a few drives through the hills. The weather was perfect and there weren't many people around, due to it being just before Memorial Day Weekend.
We took our time getting home and enjoyed every minute of it. Now begins my own planning and preparing. I also have to get used to being in front of the camera. While not all the photos are perfect (try taking photos of your own proposal in the blowing rain), I am still so thankful that I have the means and the skills to capture things like this.
I'd like to give a huge shout out to Elk Ridge Bed & Breakfast, for helping me with the surprise. The owners Leslie and Ron are amazing people, incredibly nice, and their home was a great place to stay. I can't forget to mention the spectacular breakfast Leslie cooked every morning. Mt. Rushmore is an inspiring place to visit and the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, SD was a hidden gem!
Thanks for looking!
